UnderGround Fitness LLC is about lifestyle changes for healthier living. A few years ago, I had issues with heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar, and being overweight. I spent a couple of hours in the emergency room with my heart rate faster than a Nascar and my blood pressure way over where it should be. I got put on medication. I had a follow up and found that I was just shy of the numbers that are associated with Type II diabetes. My weight was ridiculously over the limits where I could suffer a heart attack or worse. My physician suggested I change my lifestyle or bad things were going to happen. So, change I did. I started walking, stopped a couple of bad vices and changed my diet. In three months I dropped 76 pounds, got my heart rate and blood pressure down to reasonable and dropped my A1C blood count from 6.9 to 5.7. I joined a gym, where I had the privledge to partner with a young lady who would not only be my personal trainer, but my mentor as I studied to become a personal trainer. Within that year, I lost over 150 pounds and my doctor's visit was so good that I am now medication free. As of today, I have lost over 200 pounds and have run in the Kansas Sunflower games and recently ran with one of my grandsons in the Bill Snyder 5K. As my little catch phrase says, "we're all still a work in PROGRESS!"
